with hanging plates on walls, that is.
I haven't yet decided if hanging plates on walls is a brilliant thing to do or simply lame.
A corner of the kitchen as of this morning. My nude drawing stays here for now.
In my opinion, the only person who can hang plates on a wall and make them look amazing is Phoebe Howard. And I'm no Phoebe Howard. It's just so hard to get it right.

I also have a weakness for blue and white wares.

Hanging plates on walls - yes or no?
I love your blue and white collection, and I think your display is beautifully done. I always like hanging plates, but I can never get up the nerve to put many holes in my old plaster walls. My rule of thumb with anything is, if I question something a lot, I know it's really not for me.
ReplyDeleteP.S. My daughter's name is Phoebe :)
Thank you Deni! And you are right - if I question something a lot, that's probably not for me either. I have to remember that. I love the name Phoebe, by the way. Such a cute name :)
DeleteHi there, I generally don't like hanging plates but I must say the way you arranged yours is unusual and beautiful. I don't know if it is because of the beautiful blue and white (that I love), or the symmetry in which you lined them up to give a clean line to it, or that they are not individually over-ornate. I think it looks gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I enjoy simple, blue and white wares for their understated elegance. Although, the bottom plate is rather an unusual design my mother-in-law picked up from a hallmark store!
DeleteYou have some beautiful blue and white! I love plates on the wall. Even if I have a great deal of trouble doing it myself :)
ReplyDeleteHanging plates is so hard to get it right (or is it just me?) I'd LOVE to see your plates on the wall! ox
DeleteI'm a fan because I am really fond of dishes and kitchenware. For me, dishes are an ideal combination of functional and aesthetic; even a stack of mismatched dishes on a shelf looks appealing to me. Yes, I have a lot of dishes.
ReplyDeleteAnd I like that you can swap out different dishes on the wall for an easy change; so easy to find pretty dishes in antique and thrift stores.
I enjoy pretty dishes too, for their utility and beauty. I actually got rid of most of my dishware last spring when I had a garage sale and kept the only ones I really like, which ended up all the white and blues!
DeleteI'm a definite fan of plates on the wall, and think yours look great.
